Admission Procedure

All applications must be made using the online application forms. All applications including candidates’ credentials are assessed based on individual merit by GS-Mumalat’s Graduate Committee.

  • Admission Requirement For Master Programme

Admission to Master’s Degree by Research

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree with honours with a minimum CGPA of 2.75/4.00 or equivalent from the University or any other institutions of higher learning recognised by the Senate; or
  • Other qualifications equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with honours AND relevant professional work experience; or
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75/4.00, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
  • In case the CGPA does not meet the requirement of 2.50/4.00, the selection will subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field.
  • The number of credit hours for the relevant bachelor’s degree and advanced diploma shall be as follows:
  • bachelor’s degree ≥ 120 credit hours
  • advanced diploma ≥ 90 credit hours

Note: 1-year work experience is equivalent to 0.05 CGPA (To be added to the applicant CGPA)

Admission to Master’s Degree by Coursework

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree with honours with a minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.00 or equivalent from the University or any other institutions of higher learning recognised by the Senate; or
  • In case the CGPA does not meet the requirement of 2.50/4.00, the selection will subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field.
  • The number of credit hours for the relevant bachelor’s degree and advanced diploma shall be as follows:
  • bachelor’s degree ≥ 120 credit hours
  • advanced diploma ≥ 90 credit hours

Note: 1-year work experience is equivalent to 0.05 CGPA (To be added to the applicant CGPA)

The applicant shall show evidence of proficiency in English language based on the following criteria:

An applicant who does not fulfil any of these criteria shall be required to take and pass the University English Proficiency Test (UEPT) conducted by the University.

Arabic Language Requirement

For non-native speakers of Arabic Language, the applicants are required to prove satisfactory Arabic language proficiency and submit a proof of language proficiency together with the application form.

Arabic Language Placement Test will be held after the students enrolled. Applicants who have not fulfilled the requirement of Arabic requirement are required to enroll for the University Arabic course and pass this within the study period.

**The Arabic course taken is intended as a prerequisite only and not counted in the student’s academic grade 

  • Admission Requirement For PhD Programme

Admission to PhD degree

  • A relevant Master’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.75/4.00 or equivalent from the University; or
  • Other relevant qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree AND with relevant professional experience recognised by the Senate;
  • Incumbent Master’s degree Student who has fulfilled the requirement of the provisions for conversion and is approved by the JKPSU and the consent of the Senate to convert his/her study to Ph.D. degree.
